Sandbox

Dev & startup terminologies, Dev process terms | Noun

the type of world you wish you`d live in after arguing with the Project Manager for two hours. A world without consequences. In software development, a sandbox is a testing environment that isolates code and allows for experimentation. Sandboxing protects production servers and their data from untested code or from any changes that could potentially be damaging. Development servers or staging servers act as sandboxes and replicate at least the minimal functionalities needed to test the program or code under development.

“Why is there sand on my desk?” “You said you wanted to live in a sandbox world.”
