Definition of Done

Dev & startup terminologies | Noun

the Agile version of the Shrek donkey repeatedly asking “Are we there yet?” Definition of Done refers to a list of criteria which must be met before a software product or an iteration of that product (often a user story) is considered “done”. The good part? “Done” can be anything the team agrees on. The bad part? “Done” can be anything the team agrees on. The Definition of Done is particularly important when shipping features incrementally, a case in which “done” often comes to mean releasable.

“When a product backlog item or an increment is described as “done”, one must understand what “done” means."

“Why does this sound like a Zen koan?”
