Cross-platform software refers to software which works on multiple platforms, that is multiple operating systems and devices. Although there are some differences, users have a similar experience using the app between all their devices. And there's usually a way to keep the work in sync across all devices by using the cloud. Web applications are typically described as cross-platform because they are usually accessible from any web browser.
