Burndown Chart

Dev & startup terminologies, Dev process terms | Noun

a graphical representation of the time left until the project goes down in a blaze of…panic. A burndown chart plots work left to do versus time, usually with outstanding tasks on the vertical axis and time on the horizontal axis. Burndown charts are used not only to predict when work will be completed, but also to assess velocity, meaning how fast an Agile team “burns” through the user stories. The chart is only updated after the successful completion of a user story.

“What do you think of the new Project Manager?”

“I think that if he could create a burndown chart for everything, including calories, he would.”
