Breadcrumbs

Dev & startup terminologies, Dev process terms | Noun

the thing that got Hansel and Gretel lost. As well as many users of poorly designed websites and apps. Breadcrumbs are a type of secondary navigation whose purpose is to reveal the user's location in a website or app. Breadcrumbs allow users to retrace their path back to the original landing point and to navigate among various categories and sub-pages. Unfortunately, in the fairytale, birds eat Hansel and Gretel`s bread trail. Kind of like how WordPress themes hide by default the breadcrumbs on a website.

“Why did Hansel and Gretel get lost?”

“Because of poor UX.”
