Smoke testing

Dev process terms | noun

a quick way to see if smoke is coming out of your app. Very useful on the last 100m to deployment on staging. The goal of smoke testing is to determine whether important features are working and to give a green light to the QA team for further testing. It's usually a very basic test and consists of a minimal set of tests run for each build. Smoke tests prevent the QA team from trying to test something that doesn't actually work at all. They`re great for testing new functionalities which might break the existing code base.

“Developer parent: I don't feel like you pass the minimum requirements for being a responsible young adult. I`m going to smoke test you every week from now on until you get your s**t together.”
