Admin panel is a generic term used to describe an app which handles the administration of various types of content. This can vary from blog posts to e-commerce products, orders, personnel, time sheets etc. Basically, if it has tables in it and allows you to perform CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete) on various types of content, then it's an admin panel.
